Devizes A 5 - 0 Wootton Bassett B

Wootton Bassett Mens 3rds travelled to Devizes in an upbeat mood after their excellent performance the previous week. Bassett were soon brought down to earth however when the home team dominated early possession and launched a series of attacks. Within fifteen minutes both Bassett full backs had suffered injuries and had to leave the pitch. Bassett reorganised but came under constant pressure from a skilful Devizes team and ended the first half three goals down.
The second half saw the same pattern with Bassett restricted to a few counter attacks but in the main struggling to keep Devizes at bay. Despite a Player of the Match performance from keeper Mike Hayward Devizes added two further goals to run out worthy winners.
