Bassett started with strong momentum, good passing and possession. They quickly opened the scoring with a slick attacking move by Bassett Matt Jakubiec playing it to Anthony Matthews who then played the ball to Martyn Chivers who slotted home his first goal of the season. 5 minutes later Bassett had a second when Jakubiec took it around the keeper and reversed it in to the net. Surprisingly Bassett seemed to lose their momentum with many of passes going astray. Although Bassett still looked like the stronger team it was Bath who got a come-back goal from a short corner just before half time.
The second half started with a better spell of play from Bassett who kept up the pressure but could not make anything of the chances in the opposition's half. The homes side managed to score half way through the second half when Matt Jakubiec reversed a chip chop over the keeper and into the goal. Bath showed good commitment putting up a fight and still looking dangerous on short corners, one of which they managed to convert into their second goal of the game. Later in the half Bassett saw green with Elliot Daniell awarded a green card for another stick tackle. Grant Kirkup ended the scoring for Bassett with a trademark short corner rocket shot that beat the keeper.
Bassett will hope that this win can give them boost for the next week's game against a strong West Wilts B.
