Off the back of a 7-2 home win to UWE A, Bassett called up youngsters Benjamin Coombs (LB) and Dan Robbins (LW) back into the team after a good performance in the 3rd team the week before.
The game started quite edgey, with no team really managing any clear cut chances. Cirencester won a flurry of short corners and Keeper Jack Rose kept them at bay with some big saves.
The deadlock broke late into the first half when a looped ball in the D bounced sweetly for Charlie Knight to strike on the half volley, seeing the ball ping against the backboard.
Cirencester shortly won another short corner, but this time converted with a nifty finish over the advancing keeper.
Both teams probably would have left the game thinking they could have taken home 3 points.
