Bristol University fought back though, and scored two open play goals to put the score at 2-1. Wootton Bassett defended a large number of short corners, holding firm to go into half time one goal down.
The first play of the second half saw Bristol University catch Wootton Bassett by surprise as they piled forward and scored taking the game to 3-1. Wootton Bassett continued to work, with player of the match Katy Cox shining in defence as well as having a number of promising runs up the wing. Wootton Bassett could not prevent a further two goals from open play and the match ended 5-1; a result that sees Wootton Bassett drop to 7th in the table with just one win from four matches. They will look to see a reversal of fortune when they face 10th placed Cheltenham Civil Service next week.
