Despite an even match, Wootton Bassett Ladies were unable to build on
last week's win, falling 3-2 to a Lansdown team which were relegated
from the Premier League last year.
After soaking up some early pressure, Wootton Bassett went ahead
through some nice passing play between Emma Collison and Suzanne
Lello, leaving Collison with a nice tap in for a go-ahead goal.
Lansdown hit back quickly though, with a break through the middle
producing the tying goal. Lansdown scored a second via a short-corner
routine, before Lello levelled the match before half time. In the
second half, Bassett didn't seem to be able to get going. Despite
some solid defending from player of the match, Zara Salisbury,
Lansdown scored a third goal from a further short corner to take the
match 3-2.
