Wootton Bassett Ladies 1sts had a disappointing start to the league season, with a 3-1 loss to local rivals, Marlborough. Bassett went a goal down early in the match through a slick Marlborough short corner, before trailing 2-0 at half time. Player of the match, Zara Salisbury, and the rest of the Bassett defence started the second half strongly. Bassett clawed back a goal via attacking pressure from Vic Sammon forcing a Marlborough own goal. It wasn't enough though, and Marlborough added a third before the end of a open and flowing match.
