2 wins on the trot for Bassett A's.

Another impressive performance has given Bassett 6 points out of a possible 9 in the first 3 games of the season.

Starting from the first whistle Bassett were piling on the pressure in the attacking third, winning short corners and creating chances from the off. With some intricate passing and good runs made, James Gregory found himself top of the D for a hard slap, that deflected off the keepers pads and into the net to give Bassett the lead. Shortly after, what seemed like a miss hit short played to Grant Kirkups advantage as he was able to control the ball around the oncoming defender and smack it at the back board to double Bassett's lead. The game was nicely balanced for large portions of the game with Chippenham having their fair share of attacks. This forced Robbie into getting a foot on a much needed shot on goal, but deflected up and was called for a short. Chippenham used this chance well and forced Robbie into making another great save down to his right, only to see a Chippenham player tuck in the rebound. Bassett then found their rhythm shortly after and put Martyn Chivers on goal to smartly put away a tough finish. Chippenham found a second goal from another short corner situation but this did not affect Bassetts mentality as Rob Appleby scrambled for a ball with the keeper to slip in front of Craig for fourth.

The second half was more of the same, with the back line of James Wright, Grant Kirkup and Pete Sammon clearing up smartly. Ross Pinnuck and Stu Bell controlled the game in the middle of the park whilst Jakeem Lee created acres of space on the right wing, putting balls into the D with ease. Unfortunately Bassett could not utilise on all the chance creation, untill Dan Stanley controlled the ball top D and slotted in the 5th goal for Bassett.

Next week is West Wilts A and Bassett are fired up and ready for the challenge and will be looking for a result at home.
