Royal Wootton Bassett Hockey Club are on the lookout for new players and will be opening our gates this September to anyone, whether that’s a player returning to the sport or a complete novice.
On 2 September, the club will be hosting our Club Day which is a great opportunity for the club to get together in preparation for the new season and to meet new faces. There will be multiple matches played, with the Junior Section up first at 9.30, Ladies from 10.30 and Men at midday.
In the afternoon, the club will be hosting a very special game in memory of a dear friend of the hockey club, who lost her battle with cancer last year. The Steph Wheeler Memorial Match will take place at 2pm, as Steph’s Pink Ladies take on RWBHC’s Ladies Section. Spectators are encouraged to wear bobble hats and wigs along with the teams, as the club hopes to raise £ 1,000 for Prospect Hospice. Alongside the game there’ll be a raffle, tea, cake and coffee stalls, so please show your support and give anything you can. All proceeds from the Club Day will be donated to the Prospect Hospice.
For more information on the Club Day or if you are a local business and can donate a raffle prize to raise money for the Prospect Hospice, please get in touch with the club by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or visiting our website .
